Hotel management company Stonebridge is set to oversee operations at a Kimpton hotel currently being constructed in central Salt Lake City, Utah, US. Developed by The Domain Companies, the hotel is scheduled to welcome guests in early 2028.

The Domain Companies signed three new retail leases totaling 7,500 s/f at 420 Carroll St. in the Gowanus neighborhood. The transactions, brokered by Igloo, introduce a curated mix of experiential retail, family-focused programming, and destination food and beverage to the project’s ground floor, further activating the waterfront corridor with dynamic neighborhood-serving uses. “These retail activations reflect exactly the type of ground-floor ecosystem Igloo strives to create,” said Adam Joly, managing director of Igloo, who represented all three transactions. “Each concept is authentic and compelling in its own way, and together we’re creating a vibrant waterfront destination that feels genuinely rooted in the neighborhood.”

Gowanus will soon be getting another brewery with Focal Point Brewery inking a 5,000-square-foot lease in mid-March at 420 Carroll St. The spot should open sometime this year. Igloo’s Managing Director Adam Joly, who was the broker on that deal, also recently secured leases with a wine shop and a community-focused architecture and design hub at the property. “From a retail standpoint, it’s unique where everything is sort of coming online at the same time,” Joly said. “Given how long it takes to plan new retail concepts and fill out those spaces, we feel like the opportunity is really right now to get into this market.”

The Domain Companies has secured $102 million in construction financing to build a 216-key IHG Hotels & Resorts’ Kimpton luxury hotel in Downtown Salt Lake City, according to a release. Cottonwood Group provided the debt on the deal, while Walker & Dunlop’s Matt Wiener, Jay Morrow and Dustin Stolly arranged the financing package. In a statement, Matt Schwartz, co-CEO of The Domain Companies, described the new hotel as an asset that will “set a new standard” for hospitality assets across the Salt Lake City marketplace.

The Shop Workspace is expanding in New Orleans with a second coworking location, this time in South Market, where The Shop SOMA is targeting a mid-May opening following sustained demand at the company’s original site inside the Contemporary Arts Center. The new location will open on the ground floor of The Standard at 798 S. Rampart St.

Downtown Salt Lake City is getting another luxury hotel after a New Orleans-based developer confirmed this week that it resumed work on a new 10-story building at the highly seen corner of West Temple and 400 South.

Executives with Domain Companies announced Wednesday they’d secured a deal for $102 million in private financing for the hotel project at 370 S. West Temple, with arrangements in place for IHG Hotels & Resorts’ Kimpton luxury brand to operate the new 216-key facility once it opens.

“This is a major step forward in bringing this exciting project to life,” Matt Schwartz, co-CEO of Domain Cos., said in a statement, adding that it ”will provide Salt Lake City with a word-class luxury lifestyle hotel experience right in the bustling downtown district and set a new standard for hospitality in the market.”

Focal Point Beer Company, a popular Long Island City-based craft brewery, is opening its second location and taking 5,000 square feet of retail space at 420 Carroll Street, a luxury residential building in Brooklyn’s Gowanus neighborhood, owner and developer the Domain Companies. The new location will feature a taproom, a full dine-in restaurant, and a large outdoor seating area overlooking the Gowanus Canal.
