Rounding out the top three was Domain Companies, which filed plans for nearly 1.3 million square feet across three multifamily projects. Those included a 500-unit complex at 2-33 50th Avenue in Long Island City and two Gowanus projects: a 360-unit, two-tower development at 420 Carroll Street and a 241-unit building at 545 Sackett Street.

Morrow’s Steak & Seafood is now taking shape at 1001 Julia St. in the Standard, an apartment tower that is part of the South Market development.

Domain’s planned mixed-use projects include 420 Carroll and Majestic in rezoned Gowanus, where the firm has roughly 600 residential units in the pipeline; the 499-unit, 484,000-square-foot Jasper at Hunter’s Point in Long Island City; and the two-tower, 544-unit Estela in Mott Haven.

The new barbecue restaurant opened just after Mardi Gras inside the Odeon, an apartment tower that’s part of the South Market District downtown. It’s part of a double-barrel project pairing low-and-slow barbecue and craft beer.

Eight eateries, offering Greek and Mexican cuisine, pizza, burgers, and a “Shark Tank”-approved cereal-themed dessert place.

The patchwork of seven culinary concepts is anchored by a single bar that serves a creative selection of beverages — boozy and otherwise.

Blending retailers, restaurants, and entertainment with luxury residences and hospitality venues, South Market will ultimately include approximately 1,000 luxury apartments and condominiums, up to 200,000 square feet of retail space, and up to 1,300 garage and surface parking spaces.

Located inside The Exchange, The Local Market and Bar is an all-day dining venue focused on community and operated by Hospitality HQ (HHQ) and developed by The Domain Companies and Giv Development.
