Maison de la Luz & Bar Marilou Now Open

Maison de la Luz, a distinctive new 67-room guest house from Atelier Ace and Domain Companies located at 546 Carondelet Street, is now open.

Maison de la Luz opened in April 2019 in the historic City Hall annex. The hotel features a curated concierge service, private breakfast and living rooms, and a wide range of guest room options with a full suite of amenities. It also features the new restaurant and cocktail bar, Bar Marilou, now open to the public.

The stunning bar and restaurant highlights a French-inspired menu with a variety of specialty cocktails, a selection of curated natural wines, craft beer and flavorful small plates and snacks. Menu highlights include seasonal bites like Pommes Marilou, crispy potatoes with crème fraîche and bowfin caviar; Saint Jacques, seared scallops with steamed broccoli rabe; and the Bar Burger.

Maison de la Luz guests enjoy a private entrance to Bar Marilou via the guest house’s reception area. Bar Marilou’s public entrance at 544 Carondelet Street is marked by a neon sign past the iron gates that bear the bar’s name. There is also a secluded private “speakeasy” that seats parties of 12, tucked behind a secret bookcase door.
