New Orleans is known for its unique music scene, and next Friday South Market District will play its part.

From 11 AM – 2 PM on Friday, April 15th, the Joe Krown Trio will play a free “Sounds of South Market” lunch-time concert at the top of the outdoor steps of The Beacon (1000 Girod Street).

The Joe Krown Trio is made up of three legendary New Orleans musicians, Russel Batiste Jr,  Walter “Wolfman” Washington, and Joe Krown. The trio, known for their Sunday night sets at the Maple Leaf, bring a unique combination of rhythm and blues to the stage that has earned the group accolades from offBeat Magazine and the Big Easy Entertainment Awards.

Of course all of South Market’s restaurants and retailers, including Blaze Pizza, Company Burger, Magasin Kitchen, and Willa Jean will be open during the show. So if you’re in town, grab some lunch and join us on the steps of The Beacon for a Friday afternoon break with some great music!
