Tacos del Cartel to Open in the CBD
Tacos del Cartel is expanding. VEHO Hospitality Group, the Mexican restaurant’s parent company, is renovating the location at 2901 David Drive in Metairie while preparing to open a second location at 1010 Girod Street in the Central Business District. The CBD location will be open before Cinco de Mayo, and the Metairie location, which debuted in 2020, will close briefly before reopening in June.

VEHO is led by Danny Cruz and Vilexys Cruz, who the say the renovation and new location are part of an overall rebranding of the dining concept.
Domain Companies & VEHO Hospitality Open Tacos del Cartel at The Beacon in Downtown New Orleans
The Domain Companies and VEHO Hospitality announced that Tacos del Cartel, an authentic Mexican restaurant, will open in time for Cinco de Mayo at The Beacon at South Market, a $500 million mixed-use, transit-oriented development that combines luxury apartments with retail, restaurants, and entertainment venues. The restaurant is the second Tacos del Cartel location, joining existing locations in Metairie, which will close for renovations and reopen this summer, and one opening soon in Palm Beach, Florida.
Tacos del Cartel to open in Downtown New Orleans
According to a news release, the new location is opening in The Beacon at South Market in the Central Business District “in time for Cinco de Mayo.” The release states the restaurant will be led by Chef Christian Chaussant and serve up a menu featuring street tacos, mezcal, Tex-Mex dishes and cocktails.

Dumbo Market Joins Jasper, a Mixed-Use Development In Long Island City
The Domain Companies, LMXD, the VOREA Group, and Bridge Investment Group today announced that Dumbo Market, a premier grocery store, has signed a lease for approximately 13,500 SF of retail space at Jasper, a $370 million mixed-use development in Long Island City. Brokered by Igloo, Dumbo Market will open its new location in early 2025, coinciding with the completion of Jasper’s residential space. The market is moving from its site across the street and into Jasper, joining two existing locations in Brooklyn and one coming soon in Hoboken, New Jersey.
Massive Long Island City project signs grocery chain
A large development in Long Island City has found its retail anchor tenant. Grocery chain Dumbo Market signed a lease for 13,500 square feet at Jasper, a $370 million mixed-use project at 2-33 50th Avenue in the Queens neighborhood. The lease was announced by the joint venture behind the development, which includes Vorea Group, Domain Companies, L+M Development Partners (through its affordable housing affiliate) and Bridge Investment Group.
