Brittainy Horton joined Domain earlier this year as the Property Manager at The Addison in Baton Rouge.
“I was familiar with it because a company I previously worked for actually has its corporate office in the same building as Domain. I’d looked at their website and loved the feel. Once I spoke to the employees and found out all of the initiatives that Domain has, and how much they value their employees, I knew it was the place I wanted to be.”
What can you not get through a day at work without?
“Caffeine! And water. I’m trying to drink 3 liters a day.”
What’s your favorite thing about working at Domain?
“Genevieve [our training and technology specialist]! I also love my staff, and the other employees. Everyone is so helpful.”
What’s your average day like?
“Wake up, play with my 8 month old, take him to daycare, go to the office, send a million emails, ask construction for updates, audit leases, handle move ins, take a tour or two, try to tie up loose ends, leave work around 7:30pm, go home, cook, play with the baby, do some more work and then bed time. *Whew* I’m tired just reading it!”
What’s your favorite Movie?
“This is so hard! I don’t know if I have a single favorite, but one of them would definitely be Breakfast at Tiffany’s.”
If you could describe working at Domain in three words, what would they be?
“Challenging, Rewarding, Different”
How do you describe your job at Domain to other people?
“I normally just say I’m a property manager. If they ask “of what”, I tell them multi-family residential housing and commercial retail. So basically I manage/rent apartments and retail spaces.”
What do you consider your greatest achievement?
“This is another really hard one. I think having my son. I think I’ve done a handful of great things in my life thus far, but I also think my greatest achievements are yet to come.”
If you were to binge a Netflix show, which one is it?
Anime or The Walking Dead. It’s the only things I watch. Don’t judge me!
One interesting thing in your office?
“My office is pretty plain right now. The most interesting thing is probably my lucky bamboo.”
