The South Market District

The South Market District is a $450 million mixed-use, transit-oriented development combining luxury apartments with retail, restaurants and entertainment venues in the heart of downtown New Orleans. The South Market District encompasses a five-block area across Loyola Avenue from the Superdome and Smoothie King Center. The site connects the Central Business District, historic Warehouse/Arts District and the Sports/Entertainment District.

Featuring modern architecture that compliments its historic surroundings while maximizing green and sustainable design, the District will include 200,000 square feet of retail and restaurant space (including a 40,000sf upscale grocer), 1,000 luxury apartments and 1,300 garage parking spaces.
