New MyCommunity Nonprofit Partners for Mya & The Shop Announced

The Domain Companies is proud to announce new local partnerships with six nonprofit organizations through its MyCommunity program at Mya and The Shop Workspace in Salt Lake City.

MyCommunity partners each Domain property with three local nonprofit organizations, facilitating donations and creating volunteer opportunities for residents throughout the year. Upon lease signing or renewal, residents and/or members assign a donation from Domain to one of these partners, creating steady and significant financial support. Each property strengthens this relationship through ongoing volunteerism, specialized holiday programs, collection drives, and more.

In its extension to Salt Lake City, UT, the MyCommunity program will partner and support the following nonprofits in Utah:

Mya:

Odyssey House Utah, the leading and most respected substance use treatment center in the state of Utah. Odyssey House operates the largest continuum of care for people to affordably and safely access services in multiple settings and at any level of need.

Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Intermountain Area whose mission is to surround families with the support they need to be near to and care for their seriously ill or injured children. RMHC provides a home-away-from-home to ease daily burdens and empower families of hospitalized children.

Utah Food Bank whose goal is to fight hunger statewide. Through a network of 182 partner agencies located in all 29 counties, the food bank distributes food free-of-charge to partner agencies and offers direct service programs to help the most vulnerable populations in our state — children and seniors.

The Shop Workspace SLC:

The Green Urban Lunch Box, a food justice non-profit organization that empowers people to connect to their food and community by revitalizing urban spaces and building a resilient food culture. The Green Urban Lunch Box envisions a strong network of communities centered on the cultivation of food.

Wild Utah Project whose mission is to address and prevent roadblocks to effective conservation through providing sound science and data-driven strategies to facilitate conservation goals in the state. They focus on the conservation priorities: promoting habitat connectivity, protecting species in conservation need, and restoring vital habitat.

Equality Utah whose goal is to secure equal rights and protections for LGBTQ Utahns and their families. They work to create a fair and just Utah through advocacy, policy change, trainings, forums, and events statewide.

“We’re proud to partner with organizations doing such important work,” said Domain’s community engagement director Mary McCullough. “Their missions align perfectly with our goal to strengthen and give back to the communities in which we build.”

Mya will open in early 2021 with The Shop opening soon after. The unveiling of Avia, Domain’s third Utah development, will be in spring 2021.
