Congregation Coffee Roasters to Open Second Location in the South Market District, Downtown New Orleans
January 11, 2018
The café will expand beyond Algiers Point to the South Market District in Spring 2018.

New Orleans, LA The Domain Companies is excited to announce the addition of Congregation Coffee Roasters to the rapidly-growing South Market District. This will be the second location for the café, which recently opened its flagship location in the historic Algiers Point neighborhood in March 2017.

Congregation Coffee Roasters at The Beacon (1000 Girod Street) will specialize in espresso and coffee drinks, served alongside thoughtful, well-crafted food selections. From simple salads, to more involved dishes like pickled shrimp served with lemon relish, Congregation Coffee Roasters will cater to its customers with more than standard coffee shop fare. The intimate space will lend itself to individuals and small groups, with a few seating options for larger gatherings. Sidewalk seating will complement current outdoor seating options throughout the South Market District.

Even with additional food offerings, Congregation Coffee Roasters remains focused on its mission to bring great coffee to New Orleans’ residents, workers, and visitors. “With the support of an amazing team, we’ve already delivered on this mission in Algiers Point, and we’re excited to build on that success to meet Downtown’s demand for high-quality, locally-roasted coffee,” said Eliot Guthrie, co-founder of Congregation Coffee Roasters.

Congregation Coffee Roasters will join a well-rounded selection of neighborhood food and retail experiences in the South Market District, including established favorites like Willa Jean, Company Burger, and Maypop. The Beacon at South Market is already home to several recently-opened retailers, including Lukka Boutique and Zeus’ Place pet grooming and boarding.

“We’re proud to welcome Congregation Coffee Roasters to The Beacon at South Market,” said Matt Schwartz, principal at The Domain Companies, South Market’s developers. “The District continues to progress, with seven new retailers either opening or announced in 2017 alone. We’ll have more to share this year, and look forward to continued growth in 2018.”
