NEW ORLEANS – Domain Principal Matt Schwartz serves as Chairman of The Board of Liberty’s Kitchen, an innovative non-profit organization dedicated to transforming the lives of New Orleans youth by teaching life, social and employability skills in a culinary setting.

Liberty’s intensive training program combines hands-on food-service training with classroom instruction, individual case management, education programs and job placement services. Liberty’s Kitchen supports its programs with teaching-focused businesses: a working café and coffee house, catering business, and a contract meal program serving nutritious meals to the schoolchildren at New Orleans College Prep Charter School.

Matt Schwartz advised the Board in undertaking a recent large-scale expansion of the organization’s café and teaching facility into their current development in the ReFresh Project at 300 North Broad Street, a groundbreaking “Fresh Food Hub” that includes an urban Whole Foods Market, Tulane University, and more. The new location is in the center of the Mid-City neighborhood in which Domain has focused its community development efforts.
