Greenpoint Greener: Sustainability at Eleven33 in Brooklyn

Eleven33 in Greenpoint, Brooklyn

Building and strengthening communities is the focus of Domain’s work, and one of the best ways to do that is through sustainable, “green” development. Eleven33 in Greenpoint, Brooklyn is leading the way toward sustainability with innovative features and award-winning design.

Completed in late 2014, Eleven33 was built with the environment in mind. The building has achieved Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Gold Certification, and also meets Enterprise Green Community Standards. This means that Eleven33 demonstrates at least a 15% energy cost savings over conventionally-built projects, and incorporates energy-saving and sustainability measures including Energy Star-rated appliances; high-efficiency HVAC and hot water systems; low-flow plumbing fixtures; low-E windows; and the use of green building materials.

Additionally, Eleven33 was awarded the Big Apple Brownfield Award for Green Building in 2014 for converting the former Brooklyn Rapid Transit Rail Yard brownfield site into a place of urban renewal that now includes 20,000 square feet of outdoor space, including a large courtyard and rooftop terrace.

In 2015, Eleven33’s sustainable design practices contributed to the property being named the Multifamily Executive Project of the Year: Mixed Income.

We’re proud of Eleven33’s position as a green leader, and we love the community that has been built there!
